Mark was born in Market Harborough in 1974 but moved when young and grew up in several countries in Southern Africa. He studied Architecture at the University of Cape Town graduating in 1998. After moving to London, Mark joined a well-known architectural practice in 2001 where he was made director for his final 12 years, responsible for and working on a large range of high quality residential, mixed-use and education projects including a number of award-winning schemes. Mark set up Shape in 2017 with Neil and Jess.


Managing Director

Neil was born in Cork, Ireland in 1979 and studied
Architectural Technology at Cork Institute of Technology
before completing his studies at Napier University,
Edinburgh. Neil has over 20 years of experience in construction
and has been living and working in the UK since 2003.



Jessica Inwood was born in Portsmouth in 1987 and studied
Architecture at Kingston University where she was awarded a
commendation for her Post Graduate studies. During her
studies she worked in practices in both London and Canada.
Jessica stayed with the same London based practice for
several years where she worked her way swiftly to associate
level before setting up Shape with Mark and Neil.



Dean was born in South-West London in 1990 and studied
Architecture at The University of Portsmouth before completing his
professional qualification at London Metropolitan
University in early 2018. Dean has worked in a number of practices
in the South-West London focussing mainly on the residential
sector with projects varying in scale, from modest rear extensions
to large housing developments.



Peter was born in South London in 1992 and studied Architecture at the University of Manchester. His dissertation project took him to Argentina where he worked to retrofit shipping containers, for which he received a commendation. Peter has worked at several practices building up his experience but has a particular interest in the residential sector. He joined Shape in July 2019 and is currently working towards his Part 3 professional qualification.
